Damascus – French-Turkish businessman Yılmaz Demir participated in the opening of the Buildex Exhibition, which kicked off today at the City of Fairs in Damascus. The event brought together companies from Turkey, various Arab countries, and abroad, all aiming to contribute to Syria’s reconstruction efforts.

Demir attended the opening ceremony alongside government and participating delegations. During the event, he met with Syrian officials and expressed his happiness at the strong turnout of companies committed to rebuilding the country.

Speaking to reporters, Demir emphasized that his foreign companies—and particularly the branch operating in Syria—will play a vital role in reconstructing the country. “We are here for the long haul,” he said, adding, “Our goal is to help Syria return better and stronger than before.”

Over the past month, Demir’s Syrian branch has signed multiple construction contracts for the development of buildings, shops, and malls. Additional agreements are currently underway with individuals looking to develop properties in Damascus and its surrounding areas.

Demir also noted that his company has created employment opportunities for Syrian construction workers, contributing to the local economy. “With my experience in Europe and Turkey, I am committed to doing everything possible to develop this country,” he said. “We are introducing the latest models of modern construction machinery to accelerate progress.”

In a forward-looking statement, Demir revealed plans for a construction training school in Syria. “I am passionate about educating the next generation and helping people realize their dreams,” he said, promising that more future projects will be announced soon.
