Hundreds of Thousands March in London in Solidarity with Palestine
London, UK – May 17, 2025 — More than half a million people gathered in London today to show solidarity with the Palestinian people, marking the 77th anniversary of the Nakba. The mass demonstration brought together people from across the UK, spanning diverse backgrounds, religions, and communities, all united in their call for justice and an end to the violence in Gaza.

Chanting and holding banners calling for a free Palestine, protesters demanded that the UK government end its military support for Israel and take immediate steps to stop what many describe as a genocide against the Palestinian population in Gaza.

The demonstration also aimed to bring attention to what organizers say is the UK’s ongoing complicity in the conflict through arms sales and political backing. Marchers directed strong criticism at political leaders, including Labour Party leader Keir Starmer, urging them to speak out and take action.
“We will not be silent while our government supports violence and occupation,” said one protester. “This is about humanity. The people of Gaza are suffering, and we cannot stand by.”
The event marks one of the largest pro-Palestine demonstrations in recent UK history, reflecting growing public concern over the scale of destruction and civilian casualties in Gaza. It also coincides with the anniversary of the Nakba, or “catastrophe,” which refers to the mass displacement of Palestinians in 1948.

Organizers say today’s turnout shows that support for Palestine is widespread and growing, and they vowed to continue applying pressure until there is meaningful change in UK foreign policy.
