UN Chief Condemns Israeli Actions in West Bank and Gaza, Calls for Immediate Halt
United Nations Headquarters, New York —
In a strongly worded statement today, the United Nations Secretary-General issued a sharp condemnation of recent developments in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, calling for an immediate end to what he described as the “creeping annexation” of the occupied West Bank and the “wholesale destruction” of Gaza.
“Let’s be clear: The creeping annexation of the occupied West Bank is illegal. It must stop. The wholesale destruction of Gaza is intolerable. It must stop,” the Secretary-General declared at a press briefing, drawing global attention to the worsening humanitarian crisis and rising tensions in the region.
He further warned against any unilateral actions that could undermine prospects for peace:
“Unilateral actions that would forever undermine the two-state solution are unacceptable. They must stop.”
The remarks come amid

military operations in Gaza and a surge in settler violence and displacement across the West Bank. Human rights organizations have repeatedly raised alarms over the legality of recent Israeli moves, while international diplomats are scrambling to revive dialogue between Israeli and Palestinian leaders.
