World leaders condemn Gaza violence and call for accountability at the UN

World leaders took to the United Nations podium this week to speak out against the ongoing violence in Gaza, condemning attacks on civilians and calling for urgent international action.
Colombian President Gustavo Petro, Brazilian President Lula da Silva, Chilean President Gabriel Boric, Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar, and Iceland’s UN Ambassador Anna Jóhannsdóttir all emphasized the human cost of the conflict, drawing historical parallels and demanding accountability from those responsible. Their statements underscored a growing global consensus that the crisis in Gaza cannot be ignored.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro at the United Nations:
“I call on the nations and peoples of the world to unite their armies and weapons to move toward the liberation of Palestine and the liberation of humanity.
“Adding” They are not only bombing Gaza, they are threatening us all. The United States is complicit in this barbarity and bears responsibility for it.”

“It is neither the United States nor Israel.”
“The ‘chosen people of God’ is all of humanity.”

Brazilian President Lula da Silva:
“Nothing, absolutely nothing, justifies the ongoing genocide in Gaza.”


President of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar:
”We didn’t stop the Holocaust

We didn’t the Srebrenica genocide
We must stop the genocide in Gaza”
