BREAKING: Italy abandons Global Sumud Flotilla

Italy’s navy says it will stop escorting the aid flotilla to Gaza once it reaches 150 nautical miles (278 km) from the coast.

The ship will issue two warnings to activists, with the final warning expected around 00:00 GMT, offering them the “opportunity” to abandon the mission and return to shore.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni claimed the mission could “risk hindering the peace process.”
