Iran strikes against 14 countries
Claims circulated on social media alleging that Iran launched coordinated missile strikes against 14 countries in a single night, targeting military installations, airports and civilian areas across the Middle East and beyond.
According to the posts, approximately 170 ballistic missiles were fired within a 24-hour period, marking one of the largest alleged cross-border missile barrages in recent history. The claims, however, have not been independently verified by international authorities at the time of writing.
Alleged Timeline of Strikes
Israel
The posts claim that nine people were killed in Israel, with the city of Beit Shemesh reportedly struck by ballistic missiles and described as heavily damaged.
United Arab Emirates
In the United Arab Emirates, the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab was allegedly set ablaze, while Abu Dhabi International Airport was reported to have sustained damage, with one fatality and seven injuries claimed. Dubai International Airport was also said to have been hit, injuring four people and causing major flight disruptions.
Bahrain
In Bahrain, social media posts alleged that the headquarters of the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet suffered a large fire with smoke visible across the capital. A separate missile was said to have struck a civilian apartment building.
Kuwait
Kuwait International Airport was reportedly struck, and Ali Al Salem Air Base was described as bombed. The base hosts U.S. military personnel and coalition forces.
Qatar
In Qatar, Al Udeid Air Base — the largest U.S. military installation in the Middle East — was alleged to have been hit.
Saudi Arabia
Explosions were reportedly heard in Riyadh overnight. The posts also referenced a Washington Post report claiming that a Saudi prince had privately urged former U.S. President Donald Trump to initiate military action against Iran prior to the escalation. That claim has not been independently confirmed in connection with the alleged strikes.
Jordan
Jordan was said to have intercepted ballistic missiles, though debris reportedly fell into civilian areas.
Iraq
U.S. military bases across Iraq were described as being targeted in the reported wave of strikes.
Oman and Syria
Oman and Syria were also listed among the countries allegedly struck, though details regarding specific locations or damage were not provided in the circulating posts.
Cyprus and the United Kingdom
In Cyprus, the British RAF Akrotiri base was claimed to have been directly hit. If confirmed, this would mark a direct strike on a UK military installation. No official confirmation has been issued by London.
France and Italy
A French military installation in the UAE referred to as “Camp de la Paix” was reported struck, while an Italian NATO camp at Ali Al-Salem in Kuwait was also said to have been bombed.
Economic and Regional Impact
The claims also assert significant market fallout. Oil prices were said to have surged 13 percent in one day to $82 per barrel, amid concerns about disruption in the Strait of Hormuz — a critical shipping lane through which roughly 20 percent of global oil supply passes. Gold prices were reported to have climbed sharply, while flights across the Gulf region were allegedly suspended.
