Israeli Human Rights Groups Declare Israel is Committing Genocide in Gaza

 London — InternationalNews.uk

In an unprecedented move, two leading Israeli human rights organisations — B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights Israel (PHRI) — have declared that Israel is committing genocide in the Gaza Strip. The declarations were made in separate, detailed reports published today, calling on the international community to act decisively under international law to stop what they describe as Israel’s “ongoing genocidal campaign.”

Grave Allegations Backed by In-Depth Reports

The PHRI report, titled “A Health Analysis of the Gaza Genocide,” provides a forensic assessment of the public health catastrophe unfolding in Gaza. The 56-page document outlines the systematic destruction of Gaza’s health infrastructure, targeted attacks on medical professionals, and deliberate obstruction of humanitarian aid. PHRI concludes that Israel’s actions have gone far beyond military necessity, amounting to a campaign to destroy Gaza’s population by targeting the foundations of life: water, food, medicine, and shelter.

“The collapse of Gaza’s healthcare system is not a side effect of war — it is a method of war,” the report states.

Meanwhile, B’Tselem’s report, “Our Genocide,” offers legal and moral analysis grounded in international law, documenting what it calls a “deliberate and coordinated state policy to decimate Gaza’s civilian population.” The organisation, known for its meticulous documentation of Israeli military activity in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, uses testimonies, satellite imagery, and verified casualty data to argue that the threshold for genocide — as defined under the Genocide Convention — has been met.

“Israel has crossed every red line of legality and morality,” B’Tselem’s executive director, Hagai El-Ad, writes in the introduction. “The international community must no longer turn a blind eye.”

International Legal Implications

The reports intensify legal and diplomatic pressure on Israel, which is already facing multiple international investigations, including proceedings at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Both PHRI and B’Tselem explicitly urge foreign governments and institutions to invoke measures under the UN Genocide Convention, including sanctions, arms embargoes, and international prosecutions of Israeli leaders and military officials.

Global Response Expected

Human rights advocates, legal scholars, and humanitarian organisations around the world are expected to respond strongly to the publication of these reports. The documents may also catalyse further calls for ceasefire, independent investigations, and urgent humanitarian access to Gaza.

Israel’s government has not yet issued a formal response to the reports, but officials in the past have rejected similar accusations as biased and politically motivated.
