Starmer, Macron, Merz and Tusk will travel to Ukraine
BREAKING: European Leaders to Join Forces in Kyiv, Urge 30-Day Ceasefire in Ukraine
KYIV — In a major diplomatic push, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer will travel to Ukraine tomorrow alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and call for a 30-day ceasefire in the ongoing war with Russia.
In a powerful joint statement, the four leaders expressed unwavering solidarity with Ukraine and backed U.S. President Donald Trump’s call for a peace deal. They urged Russia to “agree to a full and unconditional 30-day ceasefire” to allow space for meaningful peace negotiations.
“We are ready to support peace talks as soon as possible,” the statement read, emphasizing the need for an immediate halt to hostilities and a long-term resolution that respects Ukraine’s sovereignty and internationally recognized borders.
The leaders warned that unless Russia agrees to the ceasefire, pressure on Moscow’s war machine would intensify.
