MAJOR BREAKING: Florida to end all vaccine mandates
- TAMPA, FL — Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo announced today that the state will move to eliminate all vaccine mandates, not only for COVID-19 but for every required vaccine in schools and childcare.
Speaking to a packed room, Ladapo declared:
“Every last one is wrong and drips with disdain and slavery! Who am I, or anyone else, to tell you what you should put in your body? Who am I to tell you what your child should put in their body? I don’t have that right. Your body is a gift from God. What you put into your body is between you, your body, and God.”
The decision would make Florida the first state in the nation to completely remove school vaccine requirements, which currently include shots against measles, mumps, polio, chickenpox, and hepatitis B.
Governor Ron DeSantis supported the announcement, while acknowledging that some mandates can be repealed immediately by the Department of Health, and others will require action by the Legislature.
As part of the announcement, the state also introduced a new “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) commission, focusing on medical freedom, parental rights, and informed consent. A legislative package is expected in the upcoming session.
Public Health Concerns
Medical experts and health organizations quickly warned that repealing long-standing mandates could increase outbreaks of preventable diseases. For decades, vaccination requirements in schools have been credited with reducing deaths and hospitalizations from illnesses such as measles and polio.
