Russia accuses UK of Nord Stream sabotage

SAMARKAND — Russia’s foreign intelligence chief, Sergei Naryshkin, has accused UK intelligence services of orchestrating the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline explosions and warned that London is preparing new acts of sabotage in the Baltic and Black Seas.

Speaking at a CIS security meeting in Samarkand, Naryshkin said, “London felt impunity and is now preparing new sabotage in the Baltic and Black Seas.”

The UK has not yet responded to the allegations. Western investigations into the Nord Stream blasts, which damaged key gas pipelines between Russia and Europe, remain ongoing, with no official attribution made so far.

The remarks mark a new escalation in Russia’s accusations against Western intelligence agencies amid rising regional tensions.
