Ossoff Links Trump Family, Kazakhstan Mining Deal and U.S. Funding in Senate Remarks
U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff said that in September of last year the President of Kazakhstan contacted Donald Trump to express interest in granting tungsten mining rights to an American company.
He said that the following month, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. acquired a stake in the U.S.-based company pursuing the mining deal.
Ossoff added that six days after the Trump sons obtained their stake, Kazakhstan announced that the company would receive access to what was described as “the largest known undeveloped tungsten resource in the world.”
He went on to say that several weeks later, the U.S. government, under Donald Trump’s presidency, allocated approximately $1.6 billion in taxpayer funding to support and finance the mining project in Kazakhstan.
Ossoff contrasted the developments with rising living costs in the United States, citing higher prices for gas, groceries, and healthcare, and said this reflects broader questions about economic priorities.
No official response from the Trump family or relevant authorities was included in the remarks.
