Jabaroot Hacker Group Threatens to Expose Moroccan Security Personnel

The Jabaroot hacker group, which has previously claimed responsibility for leaking large volumes of data linked to Moroccan state institutions, has issued a warning to members of Morocco’s domestic intelligence service who it says have crossed into Ceuta.

In a statement, the group called on agents of the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST) to return to Morocco immediately, threatening to publish what it described as complete databases containing the agents’ real identities. Such a disclosure, it claimed, could enable Spanish authorities to identify them.

“Return, your mission is over. The time for the internal storm in Morocco has arrived,” the group said.

Jabaroot also claimed to have obtained files on more than 70,000 members of Morocco’s National Security Directorate (DGSN) and DGST, including their real names and dates of birth. The group said the information was ready to be released when it deemed the timing appropriate.

The hackers also issued a warning over an alleged assault on an unarmed Moroccan, giving Moroccan security authorities a deadline to launch what they called a serious investigation into the incident. Failure to act, they said, would trigger the release of sensitive information. The group concluded its warning with the phrase: “He who warns is excused.”

Beyond the alleged data breaches, Jabaroot outlined a series of political demands. These include an official apology and a national day of mourning for the victims, the permanent suspension of what it called the “electoral farce,” and an independent investigation into alleged abuses against migrants, with those responsible held accountable.

The group also called for sweeping reforms to Morocco’s judicial and economic systems.

The claims made by Jabaroot, including the alleged possession of data on tens of thousands of Moroccan security personnel, could not be independently verified from the statement alone.
